While ways of working were slowly evolving before the pandemic in 2020, there is no doubt that it has rapidly accelerated these changes. Technology became invaluable, enabling whole organisations to shift to remote working virtually overnight. At the same time, employee expectations and priorities changed. Together, these trends will profoundly impact the way organisations recruit, retain and motivate employees.

To help HR and reward professionals do just that, we have surveyed HR decision makers across the UK to take a pulse of what the impact of the pandemic was on recruitment, retention, and company culture, and how organisations will change going forward. From this research we’ve created this report: Recruitment, retention, and culture: assessing the future of work.

As many as two in five (42.5%) UK organisations do not benchmark their salaries, while organisations that take a more proactive approach appear to find information from a number of different sources
